OpenAI Releases its New GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini AI Models for its ChatGPT Users
The American AI tech company – OpenAI has now officially released its new and latest GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini AI models for ChatGPT. The former is made available to Plus, Pro, and Team users, whereas the latter will be accessible to every ChatGPT user.

New GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini AI Models – Officially Released
OpenAI had initially unveiled its GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini AI models last month in April 2025, however it was only available and accessible through its developer-facing API. Now, the brand has confirmed that it will be rolling out the GPT-4.1 AI model to the Plus, Pro, and Team users of ChatGPT. On the other hand, the GPT-4.1 AI model will be made available to all ChatGPT users – both free and paid.
Speaking more, the GPT-4.1 AI model with respect to the previous GPT-4.o AI model is comparatively faster in terms of performance, and it is better with coding and instruction following tasks – making it really helpful for software engineers. Also to note, the brand has also decided to remove GPT-4o mini for all, and they will probably have to start making using of either of these new GPT-4.1 AI models.
Speaking more, reportedly OpenAI is preparing to make its largest acquisition so far by purchasing Windsurf for USD 3 billion – but an official announcement regarding this matter is still pending. Also, it has to be noted that Windsurf is considered to be one among the most popular AI coding tools currently available in the market, and OpenAI purchasing it would be a big deal for the brand in upholding its leadership in the AI tech sphere.
