Previously, after publishing a post or carousel on Instagram, users were given the option to edit their captions or remove a particular image or video if they wished to, but there was no option to change the music used on that particular post after it was published.
This is about to get changed now. Instagram announced yesterday that starting this week, users can swap the music on feed posts and carousels even after they’ve been published.
You can make this change and still keep every like, comment and share the same on the post or carousel. This gives creators flexibility as they can:
- Change the song later; they’ve never locked into a music choice
- Swap in a song as it starts trending, even after they’ve posted
- They don’t have to delete a post over a track that no longer fits
- Tap Edit, pick a new track, and upload it for the post or carousel
The new feature gives creators more creative control over their content, while it also removes a limitation that forced creators and brands to choose between keeping a post’s engagement and updating its soundtrack.
