Google Adds New Package Tracking Tab on Gmail?
As mentioned, out of nowhere, Google has decided to bring a new package tracking tab on the Gmail inbox, with details about the product, its image, expected day of delivery, warning when the delivery will happen, and an option for tracking the package. On clicking the ‘Track package’ option, users will be re-directed to the tracking page of the site from where the product was ordered.
At the right of the ‘Track package’ option, users will also be able to see the ‘three-dots’ or ‘more’ button and when clicking on it, a drop down menu will appear with ‘View details’ and ‘Dismiss’ options (however in mobile view the ‘View details’ option is placed side by side with the ‘Track package’ option*). If users decide to view the details concerning the product, the email itself which holds the details will be opened.
As mentioned, it should also be noted that this new feature or functionality has been brought on the inbox page of Gmail while the package tracking option is turned off in Settings.
