A new arrest warrant has been issued for BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga by a Mohali court

The Punjab Police detained Bagga from his home in Janakpuri, Delhi, on Friday, but the Delhi Police transported him back to the capital from Haryana, claiming that its Punjab counterpart had not informed them of the arrest.

According to news agency ANI, a Mohali court issued a second arrest warrant against BJP politician Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga on Saturday, ordering the police to arrest and deliver him before the court. This is said to be in connection with a case filed against him for making offensive statements, encouraging hostility, and alleged criminal intimidation.

Pritpal Singh Bagga, the BJP leader’s father, said after the Mohali court issued a new arrest order, “It has now been established that they simply want to book Tajinder Bagga in whatever capacity. The Delhi Police is present in Janakpuri; they will support us in all legal measures, and we will work with them.”

The Punjab Police detained Bagga from his home in Janakpuri, Delhi, on Friday, but the Delhi Police transported him back to the capital from Haryana, claiming that its Punjab counterpart had not informed them of the arrest. Bagga’s father claimed that “several individuals” came over to his house at 8 a.m. and took away his son, prompting the Delhi Police to open a kidnapping case.

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has accused the BJP and previous governments of shielding its “goon” who instigated the Punjab riots. Bagga has been open in his criticism of Arvind Kejriwal, and the BJP has accused the AAP chief of pursuing vendetta through the state police.

The AAP, on the other hand, has dismissed the charge, claiming that Bagga was detained for allegedly inflaming sectarian tensions in Punjab.

“The entire BJP and its governments are involved in protecting one of their goons who talked against the brotherhood in Punjab and incited rioting,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted in Hindi. “The BJP is a goon party that makes its own government do goonish things. These folks seldom discuss about education, health, inflation, or unemployment by accident “he claimed.
