YouTube gaming head Ryan Wyatt set to become CEO of Polygon Studios
Head of Gaming at YouTube and New York Times Bestselling Author Ryan Wyatt has decided to leave the vlogging platform in February. His critical thinking and leadership has enabled YouTube Gaming to welcome more than 250 million logged in users daily.
However, citing his passion for blockchain and Web3 development as reasons for his resignation, Wyatt is set to join Polygon Studios as CEO. Polygon Studios is the gaming and NFT branch of the layer-two Ethereum scaling network.
Ryan tweeted his departure statement, in which he thanked YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki and Chief Business Officer Robert Kynci for having faith in his capabilities eight years ago. He also described his first day in Google, in 2014.

Wyatt stated that in his new role, he would ‘be focusing on growing the developer ecosystem through investment, marketing and developer support and bridging the gap between Web 2.0 and 3.0’ As CEO, he would manage the organisation across gaming, entertainment, fashion, news, sports, etc.
The Ethereum developer’s gaming subsidiary has created its own cryptocoin MATIC. Polygon intends to fund $100 million to Wyatt’s to-be-projects. The firm intends to foster decentralised gaming, attract blockchain enthusiasts to its NFT ecosystem and promote Polygon as a blockchain prepared for the Web3 transition.
Wyatt is a former Esports commentator under the name Fwiz, which explains his Twitter username. He not only spearheaded the gaming partnerships at Google but also led their virtual and augmented reality business.
