Xiaomi x Indus Appstore Partnership Now Official – Replaces GetApps in India

Back in November 2024, certain Xiaomi smartphone users reported that they had received a notice within GetApps, pointing out that Indian users of Xiaomi devices won’t be be able to access GetApps from January 2025 onward and it will be replaced with the Indus Appstore. Under the name – ‘Indus Services App’, the GetApps team was also said to work with Indus Appstore team, and future updates for Xiaomi smartphone’s system apps will thereby be pushed via the Indus Appstore instead of GetApps.

For some reason, this change was delayed and two months later, in March 2025, Xiaomi has officially announced the change via its Redmi India X handle (also announced via Indus Appstore X handle). The X post reads that the Indus Appstore will be the brand’s new app destination in India, and users are asked to get ready to start exploring, downloading, and experience apps in a whole new way through the Indus Appstore.
