With Veo 2, Generate 8-Second Videos on Gemini and Whisk
The Veo 2 video generation model from Google is designed to produce high resolution and detailed videos with cinematic realism and on Gemini, it can be accessed by selecting it from the model drop-down menu. As mentioned, videos of 8-second duration at 720p resolution, with 16:9 landscape aspect ratio, and in MP4 file format can be generated. Users will just have to describe the scene that should be created, providing all the necessary details. Once the required video is generated, the sharing process from mobile devices is also quite easy and can be done by simply tapping on the share button.
This new feature will be available to all Google One AI Premium members and it has already started to be rolled out to Gemini Advanced web and mobile users globally. The roll-out process will continue over the next few weeks and will reach more users soon.
The Google Labs experiment – Whisk has brought the Whisk Animate feature also to Google One AI Premium users. With Whisk, image ideas can be generated using both text and image prompts and now, the generated images can be further animated into 8-second video clips with Veo 2, in different styles or themes. This feature is also available now globally.
Speaking more, Google has done its part to ensure a safer experience with its video generation feature. Red teaming and evaluation to prevent content generation that are against Google’s policies and SynthID marking in each frame to indicate that the video is AI generated are safety measures taken from the brand’s side. On top of these, Google will also be taking feedback from users to improve the overall user experience.
