Google Chrome to soon introduce Tab Grouping on Android; Here is how to use it

Google Chrome is one of the most widely used web browsers and is profoundly one of the fasted. Google Chrome’s priority has always been to be more compatible and user friendly, it has always been working on new updates. Google earlier this year released the new version of Chrome that is called ‘Chrome 88’.

Chrome is all set to introduce support for tab groups which is available on desktop. This feature will help organise those who have a habit of keeping numerous tabs open. It was earlier in 2019 tested on Android, the feature is ready to be used on the mobile platform as well. A grid tab switcher will be updated to Chrome Android with its upcoming update

How to Enable the New Grid Layout Manually

The all-new tab layout is enabled by default on all Android devices that are already using Chrome. However, if the user has the latest Chrome version updated and yet cannot see the new layout, they can enable it manually by heading over to ‘chrome://flags/#enable-tab-grid-layout%E2%80%99″ in a browser tab. After this, the user will have to restart the app twice to get the new layout.

How to group the tabs together

Similar to how apps on Android home screens can be placed on top of each other, creating folders; The user will be able to drag tabs and place them on top of each other to create groups.

How to disable the grid layout and tab groups

If the user chooses, they can disable the grid layout and tab groups with a simple step. Select ‘Disabled’ from the drop-down menu.
