Apple Health features are now expanding globally; Hearing Aid in Italy, Hypertension notification in Taiwan, Sleep Apnea notifications and Hearing Test in India

Apple’s SVP of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, has today announced the expansion of Apple Health features to over 160 countries and regions.

The rollouts include Hearing Aid support in Italy via AirPods Pro, and Hypertension notifications on Apple Watch in Taiwan.

Meanwhile, in India, Sleep Apnea notifications are available on the Apple Watch, and the Hearing Test feature is also available via AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3.

“At Apple, we believe technology should empower people to take control of their health, and that starts with giving users tools to detect conditions they may not even know they have,” said Sumbul Desai, M.D., Apple’s vice president of Health and Fitness. “From sleep apnea notifications of Apple Watch to a hearing test with AirPods Pro, we’re excited to bring these meaningful capabilities to our users in India.”

Sleep Apnea is a prevalent disorder in which breathing momentarily stops during sleep, preventing the body from getting enough oxygen. Apple Watch will analyse breathing disturbance data and notify users if it shows consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea.

Further, to give users even more insights into hearing health, Apple is introducing an intuitive, clinical-grade hearing test based on the standard clinical approach called pure-tone audiometry that users can take themselves with their AirPods Pro and a compatible iPhone or iPad.

The Apple Watch’s Hypertension Notification feature is officially available in Taiwan, allowing users to track chronic high blood pressure patterns using built-in heart rate sensors. This feature analyses heart rate data in 30-day cycles to detect changes and alert you if it detects patterns related to high blood pressure.
