New MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Series Chip Launch Officially Announced in China: MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400e Coming?

MediaTek has now announced the arrival of a new Dimensity 9400 series chip in China, following the previous Dimensity 9400 (October 2024) and Dimensity 9400+ (April 2025) launches. From what it seems, this is most likely to be the upcoming Dimensity 9400e chipset.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400e Could be Launching Next Week

Via a new Weibo update, MediaTek has announced that a new chipset will be unveiled under the brand’s Dimensity 9400 series and it has been teased with the tagline – the ‘core’ flagship. The launch is scheduled to take place next week in May 2025, and this is probably going to be MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400e chipset as mentioned above.

Speaking more, the upcoming OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition is believed to use the Dimensity 9400e chip and is likely going to be the first smartphone model to feature it. It will possibly be an enhanced version of the Dimensity 9300+ and performance-wise could be more powerful than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Also to add, reports state that MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400e will directly compete with the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip of Qualcomm.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ Chip – Key Specs 

About the Dimensity 9300+ chip, it is an octa-core processor with an architecture consisting of a Cortex X4 prime core clocked at 3.40 GHz, three Cortex X4 performance cores clocked at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex A720 efficiency cores clocked at 2.00 GHz. It is also integrated with an Immortalis-G720 GPU (12 cores), supporting ray-tracing capability.
