Sony Announces Price Hike for PlayStation Plus Subscription for New Subscribers Starting May 20th

Following the recent price hike that was announced for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal, Sony has now officially announced a price hike for its PlayStation Plus subscription service as well.

PlayStation Plus Subscription Price Hike Announced
Via the official PlayStation X handle, Sony has now officially confirmed the latest price revision for the PlayStation Plus subscription plans, and the updated pricing will come into effect starting from the 20th of May 2026.
Currently, the PlayStation Plus subscription service is offered under three tiers which include Essential, Extra, and Deluxe. However, in the latest pricing announcement, the company has only revealed revised pricing for the Essential plan, and that too only for the one-month and three-month subscription options. No revised pricing details were shared concerning the annual subscription renewal plans.

Speaking about the revised pricing, the one-month Essential subscription plan is currently priced at $9.49 USD / €8.95 EUR / £6.99 GBP, however starting from the 20th of May 2026, it will increase to $10.99 USD / €9.99 EUR / £7.99 GBP. Similarly, the three-month Essential subscription plan currently costs $24.99 USD / €24.95 EUR / £19.99 GBP, and this too will be revised to $27.99 USD / €27.99 EUR / £21.99 GBP from the mentioned date onwards.
Speaking more, the newly-announced pricing will mainly apply to new subscribers or users who cancel and rejoin the subscription service. However, for users in India and Turkey, the revised pricing will reportedly apply irrespective of their existing subscription status as well.
