Xbox PC App, Web and Cloud Gaming – New Updates Announced
Starting with the Xbox PC app, the company claims that it now launches up to 60% faster, whereas pages like Home, Store, and Game Pass load up to 50% faster. In-app windows are also claimed to open up to 65% faster, and Xbox Insiders will start seeing these improvements as part of the updated experience.
Refreshed game cards, Home and Settings pages, along with updated animations and search, are also part of the changes.
Coming to the web experience, those interested in checking it out can head over to play.xbox.com, where a new Library tab will show games that users can play through the cloud, including the games that they own and those accessible through Xbox Game Pass. Sorting and filtering options like recently played, genre, and supported input methods have also been provided.
Notably, a desktop mode makes better use of the space available on PCs and larger displays, allowing users to see more games while browsing. Additionally, there are dark and light modes, along with five new high-contrast options.
Speaking of which, Xbox is bringing a refreshed look and navigation to its Cloud Gaming apps on supported TVs and VR headsets as well.
