Capcom has released Resident Evil 2 for Apple devices, offering a free download option that lets players try a portion of the survival horror shooter before purchasing the full game. In a special promotion running until January 8, players can get the base game for $9.99 instead of its regular price of $39.99, with all in-game rewards available for an additional $1.99.
The game is exclusively available for newer Apple devices, requiring an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as iPads and Macs featuring M1 chips or later. Players can enjoy seamless cross-progression across their supported Apple devices, allowing them to continue their gameplay whether on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The universal purchase system means buying once grants access across all compatible devices.

Technical requirements for the game are substantial, with the app size reaching approximately 31GB. Players should note that the installation process requires double the app’s size in available storage space. An internet connection is mandatory to launch the game.
In a new update for the Resident Evil series on Apple devices, Capcom has also removed the internet connection requirement for starting Resident Evil 4, RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard, and Resident Evil Village. Players can now access these games offline after updating their software.
