This expansion positions the platform as a key destination for Bollywood movies and regional programming on Connected TVs. This comes as Connected TV adoption accelerates across urban and semi-urban India, driven by high-speed home broadband penetration and a growing demand for linear-style, no-subscription viewing.
LG Channels offers a mix of scheduled streaming channels spanning entertainment, news, movies, lifestyle, kids, devotional content, and music. The channel lineup features content in Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu, among other languages.
The platform operates on the FAST model, which pairs free-to-watch, linear-style programming with digital ad insertion.
The latest updates to LG channels emphasise several core priorities for the consumer electronics maker in India:
- Delivery of over 170 free channels covering genres such as general entertainment, feature films, 24/7 news, music, children’s shows, sports highlights, and devotional broadcasts.
- An emphasis on Bollywood titles alongside dedicated regional-language channels to address multilingual household viewing.
- Continued collaboration with domestic and international content owners and broadcasters to maintain a steady pipeline of localised content.
- Seamless integration into the webOS smart TV interface, allowing users instant access to live streams straight from the home screen.
