Sony to launch a new RX10 camera in India and global markets on 9th July

Back in 2013, Sony introduced its first RX10 camera, which became quite popular among wildlife photographers who were looking for a telephoto reach. The last camera launched in the RX10 lineup was the Sony RX10 IV, which was launched in 2017, and then later it was discontinued.

Since then, Sony has not introduced another RX10 camera in the market. This is about to change now as Sony has officially announced that a new Sony RX10 camera will be launched in India and globally on 9th July at 19:30 IST/ 10:00 EDT/ 15:00 BST/23:00 JST.

The company has not shared the device name and has shared only a glimpse of the upcoming camera in the teaser video.

But as per reports surfacing online, the next RX10 camera will be called RX10 V (successor to the RX10 IV). It is said that the upcoming camera will be a minimal update with a new chip for faster processing and better AF. The camera is said to arrive with Sony NP-ZF100 battery support. It could retain the same sensor (1-inch sensor) and lens (24-600mm) of the RX10 IV that was launched in 2017.

Though readers are advised to take the information with a pinch of salt and wait for the official confirmation to know about the moniker and other hardware details of the upcoming Sony RX10 camera.
