Xiaomi India Also Confirms the Arrival of the Next “T” Series Device, Hinting Towards the Xiaomi 17T’s Launch
Just a few hours back, Xiaomi’s global account had officially confirmed that the Xiaomi 17T series will be launching on the 28th of May 2026, and now, Xiaomi India has also shared a new teaser post confirming the arrival of a new “T” series smartphone in the Indian market. While the brand has still not explicitly revealed the moniker of the upcoming device, it is expected to be the Xiaomi 17T smartphone itself.
Here is more about it below.
Xiaomi 17T 5G India Launch Teased
This latest teaser shared by Xiaomi India via its official X account carries the tagline: “Some worlds were never meant to stay distant. Get ready to capture what others can’t reach. The T is coming. Standards are about to change.” As mentioned above, the brand has not officially confirmed the exact smartphone name yet, and no dedicated microsite has also gone live currently on platforms such as Amazon or Flipkart. However, based on the teaser and previous reports, the upcoming smartphone is expected to be the Xiaomi 17T 5G.

Speaking more, the Xiaomi 17T Pro variant is currently expected to remain exclusive to the global market alongside the standard Xiaomi 17T model, and the reason behind this assumption is that only the Xiaomi 17T smartphone’s model number (2602DPT53I) had earlier appeared on the Indian BIS certification database.
Regarding the specifications, while these details are still based on leaks and unconfirmed reports, the Indian variant is expected to arrive with specifications similar to the globally-leaked model. As per recent reports, the Xiaomi 17T 5G may feature a 6.59″ AMOLED display offering a 1.5K screen resolution together with a 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is also tipped to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, and it could be coupled with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 internal storage.
Battery-wise, the device is expected to pack a large 6500 mAh battery backup and may support 67W HyperCharge fast charging technology as well. Coming to the camera specifications, the smartphone is tipped to sport a triple rear camera system consisting of a 50MP Light Fusion 800 primary camera with f/1.77 aperture, a 50MP telephoto camera supporting 5x optical zoom with f/1.8 aperture, and a 12MP third sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the smartphone is also expected to feature a 32MP selfie camera.
Connectivity-related specs such as Wi-Fi 6E and NFC support are also expected on the device. Additionally, the smartphone is said to measure 8.17mm in thickness and weigh about 200 grams. The Android 16 operating system is also likely to come pre-installed out of the box.
In terms of its India launch timeline, Xiaomi is expected to officially announce the same soon.
Stay tuned for more updates.
