Vivo, one among the leading Chinese smartphone makers, has now unveiled its latest Y-series smartphone model – the Vivo Y29s 5G via its official website for the global market. The latest smartphone has been teased with key features such as the next-level design, 5500 mAh battery with 5-year battery health, SGS and military-grade shock resistance, and IP64 dust and water resistant body.

Vivo Y29s 5G – Officially Unveiled in Global Market
The newly-unveiled Vivo Y29s 5G smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor (octa-core, 6nm, 2.4 GHz), and it runs on the Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 custom skin. In terms of storage, an 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB eMMC 5.1 internal storage are part of the device. Virtual RAM support of 6GB and expandable storage of up to 2TB are further notable performance-related specs.
For its display, an LCD display screen is featured with a size of 6.74″, resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, refresh rate of 90Hz, pixel density of 260 PPI, color gamut of 70% NTSC, and brightness rate of 570 nits (HBM value).
Coming to its camera, there are two rear cameras of 50MP (f/1.8) and 0.08MP (f/3.0) present at the rear, whereas for selfies, a 5MP (f/2.2) front-facing camera is given within the notch unit. Photo, Night, Portrait, Video, Live Photo, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Pro, Pano, and Documents are some of the device’s camera modes. AI Eraser, AI Photo Enhance, and AI Documents are also there.
About its battery, as noted above, it packs a 5500 mAh (typical value) decently large Li-ion battery, supporting 15W wired fast charging feature. Up to 21 hours of YouTube video playback and up to 24 hours of Spotify music playback are claimed on the device. Also, even after 1600 charging cycles, 80% battery health is said to be retained on the battery.
Other key features of the device include 5G/4G/3G/2G network connectivity (2 nano SIMs + 1 microSD card slot tray), WiFi with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual band support, Bluetooth 5.4, USB 2.0 (type-C), OTG, NFC (not supported in Malaysia), location positioning services (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS), multiple sensors (accelerometer, ambient light sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor, color temperature sensor, gyroscope), side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP64-rated dust and water protection, SGS and military-grade shock resistance, 24-dimension security protection, 200% super loud volume, ultra-bright flashlight, 8.19 mm thickness, 199 gm weight, and Green (Jade Green) / Gold (Titanium Gold) color choices.
