itel 2165C feature phone now supports offline UPI payments powered by PhonePe
The PhonePe UPI support brings digital payment capabilities to users who use basic handsets. This integration will allow users to make digital payments on the itel 2165C device without an internet connection.
This is aimed at expanding access to India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI), particularly among 2G users who do not use smartphones.
Commenting on this, Arijeet Talapatra, CEO, itel India, said, “At itel, we focus on bringing practical technology closer to everyday consumers. With PhonePe support on the itel 2165C, we are extending digital payment capabilities to feature phone users, making everyday transactions more convenient and helping more consumers participate in India’s growing digital economy.”
