Redmi Pad 2 9.7 (WiFi-only + 4G) with 9.7″ 2K Display and Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 SoC Announced in Malaysia

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has now unveiled its Redmi Pad 2 9.7 tablet model in the Malaysian market. The latest device has been introduced in WiFi-only and 4G variants, and it is currently available for purchase in the region.

Redmi Pad 2 9.7 – Now Available in Malaysia

The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor, and it runs on the Android 16 based Xiaomi HyperOS 3 custom skin. The device comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 internal storage, along with expandable storage support via a microSD card.

For its display, it features a 9.7″ display that supports 2K resolution (2048 × 1280 pixels), along with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also offers a typical brightness of 500 nits, with peak brightness reaching up to 600 nits under outdoor mode. Speaking more, the display has received triple TÜV Rheinland certifications, including Low Blue Light (Software Solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly.

On the camera side, an 8MP rear camera (f/2.0, 1.12μm pixel size) and a 5MP front-facing camera (f/2.2, 1.12μm pixel size) are given on the device. Both cameras support video recording at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps, as well as 720p at 30fps.

It packs a 7600mAh battery backup, and supports an 18W wired fast charging feature, while a 15W charger is provided inside the box. In terms of connectivity, both variants offer dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Coming to its design, the device has an 84.70% screen-to-body ratio, measures 226.51 × 147.97 × 7.4mm in size, and weighs about 207g.

Immersive stereo speakers, virtual ambient light sensor, accelerometer, hall sensor, and AI face unlock are its other key features. Based on its specifications, it appears to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Pad 2 SE that was recently introduced in China.

Pricing and Availability

About its pricing and availability, the device is offered in Silver and Graphite Gray colour options and comes in a single 4GB + 128GB storage variant. Via the Xiaomi Singapore website, the WiFi-only model is priced at S$229, while the 4G variant is priced at S$269. Adding more, Xiaomi has also introduced the Redmi Pad 2 Cover 9.7, which is priced at S$19.
