Following several leaks and rumours, Xiaomi has officially unveiled its latest Redmi 17C 5G smartphone in Singapore. The device features a 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, 6,000mAh battery and 50MP primary camera.

Redmi 17C 5G – Specifications and Pricing

The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9″ display with a resolution of 1600 × 720 pixels, up to a 120Hz refresh rate and up to a 240Hz touch-sampling rate. The panel offers 660 nits of typical brightness, 810 nits of HBM brightness and a contrast ratio of 1200:1.

Speaking more, the display supports an 8-bit colour depth with 16.7 million colours, 83% NTSC colour gamut, DC dimming and Reading mode. It has also received TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light, Circadian Friendly and Flicker Free certifications.

Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, which is fabricated using a 6nm process. The octa-core processor uses Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 CPU cores with a maximum clock speed of 2.4GHz, while graphics are handled by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

The device comes in 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB memory configurations, although availability may differ depending on the market. It uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, while its memory-extension feature can provide up to 8GB of total RAM on the 4GB variant.

Furthermore, the Redmi 17C 5G supports up to 1TB of expandable storage through a dedicated microSD card slot. It also features two SIM slots alongside the dedicated memory-card slot. On the software side, the smartphone runs on Xiaomi HyperOS 3.

Coming to the cameras, the Redmi 17C 5G carries a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 5P lens. It is accompanied by an auxiliary camera and supports HDR, Night, Portrait and time-lapse modes.

For selfies and video calls, the smartphone offers an 8MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Its front-camera features include HDR, Portrait, Night, time-lapse and a soft-light ring. Both the front and rear cameras support video recording at up to 1080p at 30fps.

The smartphone is backed by a 6,000mAh battery and supports up to 33W wired fast charging through a USB Type-C port. However, Xiaomi bundles a 15W power adapter with the device. Users who want to access the maximum charging speed will have to purchase a compatible 33W adapter separately.

Regarding connectivity, the Redmi 17C 5G supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and FM radio through wired headphones. Its supported Bluetooth audio codecs include AAC, SBC and LDAC. The availability of NFC may vary depending on the market.

Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and AI face unlock. The device supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou navigation systems, while its sensors include a virtual proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer and electronic compass.

The Redmi 17C 5G also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

In terms of design, the smartphone measures 171.56 × 79.47 × 8.05mm and weighs 211gm. It is offered in Black, Brown and Purple colour options.

Coming to the pricing and availability, the Redmi 17C 5G is now available through Xiaomi’s official Singapore online store. The smartphone has been listed in a single 4GB/128GB memory configuration at a price of SGD 279.
