Realme has announced the Realme Neo 8 smartphone in its home market, China.

Realme Neo 8 – Specification and Features

The Realme Neo 8 has a distinctive design with a transparent RGB back and comes in three colours; Cyber Purple, Origin White, and Mecha Gray. It uses a unique 3D partitioning process that creates dynamic light and shadow effects on the back panel. The phone also features the Awakening Halo with customisable lighting effects for notifications, music, and e-sports. Additionally, it has a metal frame, a glass back, and is built to be highly durable with IP66, IP68, and IP69 water and dust resistance.

For the display, Realme has partnered with Samsung to create a custom 165Hz Samsung Sky Screen using the flagship M14 luminescent material. It is a 6.78″ LTPS OLED panel with a resolution of 2772 × 1272 pixels. The display supports a manual peak brightness of 1,000 nits, a global peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and can reach up to 6,500 nits locally. It also supports a 3,800 nits sunlight display and an ultra-wide 103% P3 colour gamut. The display further includes a 3800Hz touch sampling rate and Green Field Eye Protection, which brings DC dimming and AI active eye protection.

On the performance side, the Neo 8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform built on a 3nm process, with an AnTuTu score exceeding 3.2 million. It also includes UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X memory, along with a high-airflow cooling system and the Sky Signal Chip S1. The device features a GT performance engine that optimises energy efficiency and gaming performance, allowing a stable 165Hz refresh rate in popular games like Call of Duty Mobile. It also supports customisable temperature controls and adjustable CPU/GPU frequencies for tailored gaming performance. The phone will run Realme UI 7 based on Android 16, and Realme has promised three major Android version updates along with four years of security updates.

In terms of imaging, the phone features a 50MP Sony IMX896 main camera with optical image stabilisation and support for 1x-4x zoom. It also includes a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom, plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 16MP front camera.

The battery is an 8,000mAh cell with 16% silicon content, offering a 3% improvement in energy density. It supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging and is compatible with multiple charging protocols, including UFCS, PPS, PD, and QC.

Pricing and Availaility

The realme Neo 8 is currently on sale in China and is available through the official realme China website. The base 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at 2,599 yuan, followed by the 16GB + 256GB model at 2,899 yuan. The 12GB + 512GB version costs 3,099 yuan, while the 16GB + 512GB variant is priced at 3,399 yuan. The top-end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is listed at 3,899 yuan.
