POCO has officially launched its latest M-series smartphone, the POCO M8 Power 5G, in the Indian market. Looking at its specifications, the newly launched device appears to be largely similar to the Redmi Note 17 5G that was introduced earlier in China.

POCO M8 Power 5G – Specifications and Features
The POCO M8 Power 5G features a 6.9″ AMOLED display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch-response rate. An in-display fingerprint sensor is also equipped on the smartphone, whereas Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection is offered for its display.
Under the hood, the device uses Qualcomm’s 4nm-based Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset and is claimed to have scored over 630,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform. The chipset is paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2-based internal storage. Support for up to 8GB of virtual RAM expansion is also offered.
For thermal management, the smartphone features a 10,416mm² graphite cooling area. POCO further claims that the device can provide a lag-free user experience for up to 48 months.
Speaking about its cameras, the POCO M8 Power 5G sports a 50MP AI dual-camera system at the rear, led by the Light Fusion 400 main camera sensor. For selfies and video calls, an 8MP front-facing camera is equipped.
The camera features offered on the smartphone include AI Scene Detection, Auto Night Mode, AI Eraser, AI Sky, AI Bokeh Portraits, depth sensing, and AI HDR optimisation.
Coming to its battery, the device packs an 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports up to 45W wired fast charging. A compatible 45W charging adapter is also included inside the box. In addition to this, the smartphone supports up to 22.5W wired reverse charging.
POCO claims that the battery can deliver up to three days of usage, around 28 hours of video playback, 14 hours of gaming, 31 hours of social media scrolling, 11 hours of navigation, and approximately 38 days of standby time. The brand also points out that a short charging session can provide around eight hours of usage.
The POCO M8 Power 5G runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 based on the Android 16 operating system. The brand is promising four generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the device. Google Gemini and Circle to Search are among the AI features available on the smartphone.
Speaking about its design, the device measures 8.45mm in thickness and features a metallic-finish middle frame along with a matte-finished rear panel. An IP65 rating for dust and water resistance is also offered.
Pricing and Availability
The POCO M8 Power 5G has been launched in two memory configurations. Its 6GB/128GB variant is priced at INR 24,999, whereas the higher 8GB/128GB variant carries a price tag of INR 27,999.
However, during the first 12 hours of its sale, buyers will be able to purchase the base 6GB/128GB variant at a special price of INR 21,999. POCO is also offering up to nine months of No Cost EMI on the smartphone.
The device will be available in Green, Blaze Orange, and Black colour choices. Its open sale will begin on the 7th of August 2026 at 12 PM IST, exclusively through Flipkart, as confirmed in the brand’s official announcement.
