OnePlus has started teasing the launch of its upcoming flagship OnePlus 16 smartphone in its home market of China. The brand has now also revealed some of the gaming technologies that will be offered on the device.

OnePlus 16 – Gaming Technologies Teased
At the Snapdragon Gaming Technology Awards held in China, Liu Baoyou, General Manager of OnePlus China, showcased the brand’s achievements with its various partners in gaming technology and the ultra-high frame-rate gaming ecosystem.
During the event, he also revealed that OnePlus recorded a 13% year-on-year increase in sales during the first half of 2026 and also confirmed some details about the upcoming OnePlus 16 smartphone.
He added that this flagship device will arrive with an upgraded Fengchi Gaming Core, high refresh-rate technology supporting 165Hz and above, a Customised Touch Chip, and the Esports Triple Chip system.
OnePlus 16 – Poster
Separately, an alleged marketing poster of the OnePlus 16 has surfaced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, offering a glimpse at its rear panel. The smartphone appears to feature a circular camera module housing two larger circular cutouts and two smaller ones. Two of the bigger cutouts seemingly belong to the camera sensors, whereas the remaining two smaller cutouts could house the LED flashlight and another sensor.
Earlier rumours had suggested that the OnePlus 16 could retain a design similar to that of the OnePlus 15. However, if the newly surfaced poster is accurate, the upcoming flagship may instead arrive with a redesigned rear camera module.
Speaking about its expected specifications, previous reports have claimed that the OnePlus 16 could use Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. The device is also tipped to sport a 6.78″ OLED display with ultra-narrow bezels and support a refresh rate of up to 185Hz. A large 9,000mAh battery is rumoured to be packed within the smartphone as well.
While rumours point towards an October 2026 launch in China, this timeline must still be taken with a pinch of salt. OnePlus has already confirmed its exit from the EU and North American markets, and its India launch is also unlikely, according to the latest tip from tipster Gadgetsdata.
