OnePlus has officially launched its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 15, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Elite SoC. It is also expected to launch soon in global markets, including India, with most of the specifications likely to remain the same. The OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE X3 8T LTPO flat display with a resolution of 2772×1272 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 165Hz. The screen supports 10-bit colour depth (1.07 billion colours), 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. It delivers up to 1800 nits peak brightness, with a 1-nit minimum brightness for comfortable use in dark environments. The display integrates PWM + DC dimming, eye protection, motion sickness relief, and a Display P3 independent chip for enhanced brightness and colour accuracy. It also holds TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification for visual comfort.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC built on a 3nm process, with an octa-core CPU (up to 4.608GHz) and Adreno 840 GPU. It introduces the new “Fengchi Game Core,” a chip-level gaming system designed for stable 165fps gameplay and efficient power management. Additional gaming enhancements include the G2 triple-core network chip for lower latency on cellular and Wi-Fi networks, and the Lingxi three-core touch controller offering a 3200Hz sampling rate with touch-display synchronisation for precise and lag-free response.

The OnePlus 15 comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs on ColorOS 16, based on Android 16, featuring AI-driven performance optimisation and customisation.

OnePlus 15 is equipped with a triple 50MP camera system powered by OPPO’s LUMO imaging engine, designed to enhance portrait and cinematic photography. The setup includes a 50MP main Sony IMX906 wide-angle lens (f/1.8, 24mm) with OIS, a 50MP Omnivision OV50D ultra-wide lens (f/2.0, 16mm) with a 116° field of view, and a 50MP Samsung JN5 telephoto periscope lens (f/2.8, 80mm) with 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. On the front, the OnePlus 15 features a 32MP Sony IMX709 selfie shooter with autofocus.

The OPPO LUMO engine introduces a new “Master Mode” that improves tone, depth, and dynamic range for lifelike portraits, while maintaining a soft, film-like texture for natural skin tones. The system also supports AI-based scene recognition and colour calibration for balanced exposure across lighting conditions.

Powering the device is a 7,300mAh dual-cell battery supporting 120W Super Flash Charge and 50W wireless charging. It also supports multiple charging protocols, including UFCS fusion, PPS, PD, and QC standards.

The design uses an aluminium alloy frame with Corning Gorilla Glass on the front. The Original Sand Dune variant features a glass fibre composite back, while the Absolute Black and Misty Purple variants use Crystal Shield Glass. The phone measures 161.42×76.67×8.10mm (Sand Dune) or 8.20mm (other variants) and weighs between 211g and 215g. The design includes a metal Rubik’s Cube-style camera module, 1.15mm narrow bezels, rounded R corners for a comfortable grip, and a multifunction shortcut key for quick access to features.

Connectivity options include dual 5G (SA/NSA), Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 (aptX, LDAC, LHDC 5.0), NFC, dual Nano SIM, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, and QZSS. The phone has IP66/68/69K dust and water resistance, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, dual stereo speakers, and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Additional sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, laser focus, colour temperature sensor, and infrared remote control.

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders for the OnePlus 15 are now open, with official sales beginning on October 28 at 10:00 AM. The device will be available in three colour options: Absolute Black, Misty Purple, and Original Sand Dune. Pricing starts at 3,999 Chinese Yuan for the 12GB + 256GB variant, followed by 4,299 Chinese Yuan for the 16GB + 256GB, 4,599 Chinese Yuan for the 12GB + 512GB, 4,899 Chinese Yuan for the 16GB + 512GB, and 5,399 Chinese Yuan for the 16GB + 1TB model.
