Nubia announces to unveil the world’s first AI-powered smartphone on July 17

We have all seen smartphone brands launching their devices with AI features in recent years, using which users can carry on their daily tasks, photo/video editing, and much more in just a few taps.

Now, something new is going to make its way in the smartphone industry. The Chinese smartphone maker Nubia has today announced that it will launch the world’s first AI-powered smartphone during the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026, scheduled to begin on July 17 and will conclude on July 20 in Shanghai.

The moniker of the smartphone and other details are still under wraps. It is expected that the upcoming handset could arrive with AI that completes tasks for users, better AI integration and smarter app control.

If you recall, earlier this year, Nubia unveiled its Nubia M153 smartphone with Doubao AI Assistant. This device was also launched in limited quantity in the Chinese market. Nubia M153 was said to be a true AI-native phone that brings an “autopilot” experience to the AI phone powered by its OS-level Agent capabilities. The device marked a paradigm shift from “users operating their phones” to “AI autonomously handling tasks for them.”

But the users did complain about facing issues in the Nubia M153. Reportedly, the upcoming AI-powered Nubia phone will arrive as a successor to the Nubia M153, and it is said that the company has resolved previously reported issues, while Nubia is also reported to reach agreements with various online platforms to enable deep AI integration in the upcoming device.
