[Correction: Motorola Confirms Moto G77 Power India Launch on 8th July] Motorola India Teases New Smartphone, Earlier Expected to be Edge 70 Max

Update on 2nd July 2026 – Motorola, via its Flipkart microsite, has now confirmed that the device which will be launching in India is not the Motorola Edge 70 Max, at least for now. As per the details shared, the upcoming device is the Moto G77 Power smartphone, and it will be launching in the Indian market on the 8th of July 2026 via Flipkart.

Along with the launch date, the brand has also revealed several key specs and features of the upcoming Moto G77 Power smartphone. As listed on the Flipkart microsite, the device will be packing a 7000 mAh large battery, and within Motorola’s portfolio under INR 30K.

The microsite confirms that the device will sport a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera which Motorola calls it a pro-grade camera setup, along with a 32MP front-facing camera for studio-quality selfies and an 8MP ultrawide camera. Regarding its display, a 6.72″ FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate support will be offered on the device. Addiitonally, it will aalso feature Gorilla Glass 7i protection, CORNING Gorilla Glass Ceramic, and MIL-STD 810H certification.

Coming to the audio specs, the Moto G77 Power is claimed to offer the segment’s best audio experience, and it will support Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio with 3.5mm audio jack support.

Design-wise, it will come in vegan leather finish and Pantone-curated color choices. Android 16 out of the box is confirmed, along with the Android 17 upgrade promise.

Other features of the upcoming Moto G77 Power smartphone include Smart Connect support, letting users connect their phone to PC seamlessly and continue to work, play, and share without breaks, three-finger screenshot, chop twice to turn on the flashlight, and twist-twist to open the camera, Family Sharing for safer sharing with kids and guests.

Just recently, the alleged listing of the upcoming Motorola Edge 70 Max, aka Lenovo Legion Y70, was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards certification platform, hinting that the device may likely break cover in India. Now, Motorola has shared a new teaser on its X profile, suggesting that a new smartphone device will be launching soon in the country.

Motorola’s latest teaser post on X reads, “The overlap you’ve been waiting for. Wow all the way… coming soon.” Along with this, the teaser images further mention “great camera”, “great style”, “great battery”, and “great price”, suggesting that the brand is preparing to introduce a new value-focused smartphone in the Indian market.

To note, Motorola has not officially confirmed the moniker of this upcoming device yet, and nowhere in the teaser has the brand mentioned that it is the Motorola Edge 70 Max. However, looking at the recent developments, including the alleged BIS listing, there is a possibility that the teased device could be the upcoming Edge 70 Max smartphone.

If this indeed turns out to be the same device, then as per the previously leaked marketing material, the Motorola Edge 70 Max may arrive powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The handset is also said to be made available in three color choices – Onyx Black with a glossy finish, Sage Green with a matte finish, and Glacier Blue with a slight pearl-like effect when light falls on it.

Regarding the design, the smartphone is expected to feature a flat AMOLED-like display with razor-thin bezels on all four sides and a centered punch-hole selfie camera. At the rear, the device is said to sport a triple-camera-like module with four circular cutouts, likely housing the main camera, telephoto lens, ultra-wide camera, and LED flash.

Speaking more, the leaked details also suggest that the device may bring features related to portrait photography, low-light shots, action photography, portrait blur, and AI-powered photo tools. Other expected features include Always-on Display, live wallpapers, animated themes, a premium tempered glass cover, MIL-STD-810H certification, and wireless charging support.

Looking into the software and AI features, the Motorola Edge 70 Max is said to arrive with the AI Assistant Qira, along with smart photo edits, text summarization, image search, real-time translation, conversational AI features, and deep Moto AI integration.

Coming back to the BIS listing, the listed model number “‘XT2611’” reportedly looks quite similar to that of the China-launched Lenovo Legion Y70 smartphone. Because of this, it is being assumed that the Motorola Edge 70 Max could probably arrive as a rebranded version of the Lenovo Legion Y70. However, since the brand has not revealed much about the upcoming device, it would be better to take this information with a pinch of salt for now.

As of now, Motorola has only teased the arrival of a new smartphone in India, and more updates regarding its moniker, specifications, launch date, and availability can be expected in the coming days.
