iQOO recently revealed some of the display specifications of its upcoming flagship iQOO 16 smartphone for its home market of China. While it was already confirmed that the device would break its cover this month, the brand has now officially announced its launch date, along with revealing its design and colour options.

iQOO 16 – Launch Date, Design, and Colour Options
As per the details shared by the brand, the iQOO 16 smartphone will be launched and go on sale in China on 29th September 2026 at 7 PM. It will be available in Light Chaser, Legendary, and Racetrack colour options.
The Light Chaser colour variant features a laser holographic finish with interwoven red and blue light effects, while the Legendary option has a cool white finish with a silver-grey hue. The latter is created using magnetron-sputtering electroplating technology and a 670nm coating. The Racetrack variant, on the other hand, features a purple-and-black finish inspired by F1 racing-car paint.
Light Chaser
Speaking of its design, the images shared by the brand reveal a flat frame with rounded corners, along with a square-shaped rear camera island featuring rounded edges. A triple rear camera system arranged in a triangular layout, ‘100x Telephoto’ branding, and a separate circular LED flash can also be seen. The device is also being promoted with the ‘Monster Inside’ tagline.
Speaking more, the iQOO 16 is already confirmed to feature a display using Samsung’s latest M16 luminescent material. It is claimed to consume 30% less power than conventional OLED panels and 31% less power than 1.5K panels. Up to 2800 nits of global peak brightness and 10,000 nits of local peak brightness, along with a factory-applied AR anti-reflective film, have also been revealed.
According to certain media reports, the same M16-based display technology is also expected to be featured on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra smartphones.
