Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is preparing to launch its next flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, in its home market of China and its launch is alredy confirmed to happen later this month. Earlier, the brand had revealed some of the gaming related specs of this device and now it has revealed some of the display specs of this device.

iQOO 16 – Display Specifications

As per the details shared by the brand, the iQOO 16 will feature a 2K LEAD OLED 2.0 display panel, developed under the Samsung Display–iQOO Future Display Exploration Program. The display offers a pixel density of 508 PPI and supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.

The panel uses Samsung’s M16 luminescent material and is claimed to consume 30% less power than conventional OLED panels and 31% less power than 1.5K panels. It is also revealed to offer up to 2800 nits of global peak brightness and 10,000 nits of local peak brightness, along with a factory-applied AR anti-reflective film.

For eye protection, the display supports 3300Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and full-brightness DC dimming, and it has also received TÜV Rheinland eye-comfort and flicker-free certifications. Additionally, its brightness uniformity and colour uniformity are claimed to have been improved by 22% and 40%, respectively.

Speaking more, the iQOO 16 display supports a 1.24× P3 colour gamut with game-specific gamut expansion, along with Dolby Vision. The smartphone will also feature iQOO’s Q-Flex touch technology, offering up to a 500Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate and a 5000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate.

A 100% first-frame brightness ratio has also been revealed for the device, which is said to help reduce motion blur. Furthermore, a report by ETNews claims that the Galaxy S27 Pro & S27 Ultra will also get an M16 display.

With its launch taking place later this month, iQOO is expected to reveal more details about the upcoming flagship smartphone in the coming days.
