Honor Robot Phone – China Launch Date Confirmed
As per Honor’s latest announcement, the Honor Robot Phone is scheduled to break cover in its home market of China on the 12th of August 2026. The launch poster also points out that the device has been jointly developed with ARRI, a German manufacturer known for its professional motion-picture cameras and filmmaking equipment.
Looking into the pre-reservation page of the Honor Robot Phone on JD.com, the device carries the model number of ‘APH-AN00’ and is listed in two colour choices of Star Trail Silver and Moon Shadow Gray. Memory options of 12GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB have also been mentioned on the platform.
Honor initially teased the Robot Phone concept in October 2025 and later officially presented its working version at MWC 2026.
Speaking about its design, the Honor Robot Phone features a robotic camera arm which extends out of its large rear camera module. The camera can move independently using a gimbal-like mechanism, whereas the complete robotic setup folds back inside the camera housing when it is not being used.

Its rear camera island also appears to house multiple camera sensors, including a periscope telephoto camera, along with a ring-shaped LED flash or sensor. The device further features a rounded frame and curved corners.
Honor had earlier revealed that the Robot Phone uses an ultra-compact four-degrees-of-freedom gimbal system with three-axis mechanical stabilisation. It also supports AI Object Tracking, all-angle AI video calling, rotational camera movement, automatic framing, and subject tracking. Moreover, its robotic camera can respond using gestures such as nodding and shaking its head.
Speaking more about its expected specifications, tipster Digital Chat Station previously claimed that the Honor Robot Phone will feature a flat display measuring between 6.3″ and 6.4″ and support a 1.5K screen resolution. The device is also tipped to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 mobile platform.
Moving on to its cameras, the marking present on the camera module points to a 200MP main camera with an f/1.6 aperture and 4D gimbal stabilisation. Apart from this, the tipster mentioned that a 50MP ultra-wide camera and another 200MP periscope telephoto camera could also be offered.
The tipster further pointed out that the camera performance of the Honor Robot Phone could provide an early preview of the imaging technology planned for the upcoming Honor Magic9 series. Its collaboration with ARRI is also expected to bring professional colour processing and other cinema-focused imaging features to the smartphone.
Additionally, the ‘APH-AN00’ model had previously made its appearance on China’s 3C certification database, revealing support for up to 120W wired fast charging. The smartphone is further tipped to pack a battery with a capacity of around 6,000mAh.
