With the September 28th launch date approaching, HONOR has been revealing more and more details about its upcoming flagship Magic 9 series for its home market of China. Now, the brand has shared more camera-related details, revealing new front camera features for the series.

HONOR Magic 9 Series – Front Camera Details Revealed
As per the latest details shared by the brand, the HONOR Magic9 and Magic 9 Pro Max smartphones will feature an Android-first ‘Dynamic Eye’ front camera with a 55MP resolution. It is also revealed to be the first square-format front camera on an Android smartphone.

The square-format sensor will allow users to capture landscape-oriented photos while holding the device vertically. This means that users will be able to capture both portrait and landscape shots without rotating the smartphone.
Additionally, the imaging system of the Magic 9 series has been jointly developed by HONOR and ARRI. The Magic 9 Pro Max has also been revealed to support the HONOR SmallRig Professional Video Extension Kit, ARRI Cinema Mode, ARRI LogC3 video pipeline, cinema-grade gun microphone recording, focus peaking, ARRI video watermark, and false-colour monitoring.
With the launch date now approaching, HONOR is expected to reveal more details about the upcoming Magic 9 series ahead of its China debut.
