Update: The video has now been removed by Google 🙁

A few months ago when we reported about design renders of Google Pixel 8, little was known about it and its Pro model. Tech people had less idea about its design and features until 91 mobile via Kuba Wojciechowski :3 named tipster revealed the first ever real-life recording of the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro. Yes, you read it right, its real-life recording has been leaked revealing some of the key design information and a supercool feature.

Design of Google Pixel 8 Pro

To keep the excitement high let’s get started with the design of this smartphone. The Google Pixel 8 Pro can be seen in the video with the punch-hole front camera. Unlike Google Pixel 7 Pro, the triple camera is clubbed in a single pill-shaped module. We saw two cameras in a single pill-shaped module in Pixel 7 Pro whereas the third one was separated in a circular module.

The characteristic metal frame housing camera module is the same as Pixel 7 Pro.

Thermometer sensor

In addition, a feature that will shadow the rest new features is the thermometer sensor. Yes, a thermometer sensor in a smartphone. In the video, a small round infrared sensor can be seen just below the flash. The video demonstrates the use of this sensor. As soon as the smartphone screen is displayed in the video “Body Temperature” can be seen on screen.

The user flips the smartphone and recognizes the infrared sensor. She takes out the spectacles and sidelines the hairs. She does it because the sensor needs access to bare skin. She holds the phone close to her forehead and tilts the sensor towards the forehead. The smartphone sensor is moved at the same angle from the forehead to the temple in 4 seconds. The phone automatically vibrates as soon as the result is available.

This built-in feature will only be seen in the Pixel 8 Pro model. In addition to the body temperature, the user will be able to measure the temperature of the object as well. The data will be stored locally and it will be handled through Android Private Computer Core.
