Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro launched with Tensor G3 processor and improved camera

Google has finally removed the curtains from the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro though its leaks and reveals almost launched it unofficially. Both of the smartphones share some key similarities while it also differs at some point. Let’s get to know about these two recently unveiled smartphones in this article in detail.

Both of the smartphones are powered by Google Tensor G3 chipset which has 9 cores including a single Cortex-X3 prime core, four Cortex-A715 cores, and another four Cortex-A510. Its standard model packs up to 8GB of RAM while its Pro model packs up to 12 GB of RAM.

Google Pixel 8 specs

Google Pixel 8 comes with a 6.2-inch wide OLED 120 Hz refresh rate display with up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. This phone packs 8GB LPDDR5X with 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

It is backed by a 4,575 mAh battery that supports 27W wired charging and 18W wireless charging. Coming on to its camera specs this phone boasts a 10.5 MP selfie camera and 50 MP primary rear camera with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera. Dimensions are 150.5×70.8×8.9mm and it weighs 187g.

Google Pixel 8 Pro

Google Pixel 8 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch wide LTPO OLED display panel that sports a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 2400 nits of peak brightness. This handset packs 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage. The device is backed by a 5,050 mAh battery that supports 30 W wired charging and 23 W wireless charging.

Camera specs include a triple camera setup on the rear featuring a 50 MP Octa-PD (phase-detect autofocus) wide shooter with OIS, a new 48MP Quad-PD ultrawide, and a 48MP Quad-PD 5x zoom camera with up to 30X Super-Res digital zoom. The front side of the phone has a 10.5 MP selfie camera.

You will also find a new skin temperature sensor with the Pixel 8 Pro handset to measure temperature.

Both of the handsets come with a free VPN by Google One and are promised to receive 7 years of OS and security updates.

Price and availability

As far as it’s the price is concerned the Google Pixel 8 128 GB storage variant is priced at $ 700 around Rs INR 76,000 while the 128 GB variant of Pixel 8 Pro has been priced at $1,000 around INR 1,07,000.

For European and US buyers, the Pixel 8 is being offered with a free Pixel Buds Pro while the Pro model is being offered with a free Pixel Watch 2. Indian buyers are just to get 50% off on the accessories. Buyers can pre-book the phone as it is up for booking on the website.

Both of the smartphones are also listed on Flipkart for pre-booking with some additional discounts and offers. You can avail of additional off on exchange up to Rs 3,000 on Pixel 8 and Rs 4,000 on Pixel 8 Pro. Buyers can also get bank discounts up to Rs 8,000 on Pixel 8 and Rs 9,000 on Pixel 8 Pro bringing its final price down to Rs 64,999 for Pixel 8 and Rs 93,999 for Pixel 8 Pro smartphone.
