Fairphone (Gen. 6+): Features
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. It is backed by a 4415 mAh user-removable Li-ion battery, and with fast-charging support, the device can be charged to 50% in 20 minutes.
The device comes with a modular design for quick repairs, 12 affordable spare parts and a five-year warranty. The company has promised software support till 2033. It packs a 50MP main camera with 10x digital zoom and a 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view on the rear side, while there is a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus.
It boasts fine-tuned modular optics, different camera modes (default, super night, Portrait, 2x and selfie), uncompressed RAW data capture (DNG), adjustable camera settings (ISO, shutter speed, white balance and more) and manual focus. Users can shoot up to 4K UHD videos at 30fps.
There is a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display that offers up to a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1400 nits auto brightness, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM Dimming below 90 nits, and the display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
It measures 156.57 x 73.28 x 9.6 mm and weighs 193g. The smartphone can be paired with fully integrated modular accessories like a protective case, lanyard, finger loop and card holder. It runs on Android 16 and does not include preinstalled third-party apps beyond the Google Suite and My Fairphone.
Other features include: WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, stereo speakers, Google Gemini, LRA vibration motor with variable intensity, NFC, dual SIM, IP55 rating, MIL-STD-810H standard, fingerprint sensor, and face unlock.
The device contains 51% fair or recycled materials by weight across 15 materials, including recycled aluminium, copper, steel, indium, magnesium, nickel, plastics, rare earth elements, tin and zinc, along with fairmined tungsten and gold.
Fairphone (Gen. 6+): Availability
The smartphone comes in Cobalt Blue, Forest Green and Horizon Black colours. It is priced at $649.99 in the US. It is fully unlocked and supports AT%T and T-Mobile networks. The company is also offering integrated accessories in the US.
