Apple discontinues the Mac Mini M4 256GB model worldwide

In 2024, Apple introduced its Mac Mini with the M4 chip. At that time, the device arrived with 256GB as the base model, but now the company has discontinued the 256GB variant, and the lineup now starts with the 512GB variant.

With the new change, the Apple Mac Mini with the M4 chip base model ( 512GB) is priced at $799 in the US and Rs 79,900 in the Indian market. The 256GB model has been removed entirely from the Apple online store.

The Mac mini features a smaller form factor design with a size of 5″ x 5″, and offers front and back connectivity ports to its users. At the front, two USB Type-C ports and a 3.5mm audio jack, along with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and an HDMI port at the back, are being offered. For the first time, Thunderbolt 5 is also supported.

The M4 chip assures up to 1.8x better CPU and up to 2.2x better GPU performances when compared with the previous M1 model. An advanced Neural Engine runs on-device Apple Intelligence at blazing speed.

Apple Intelligence features include: Writing tools, Image Playground, and Natural language search in Photos. User’s privacy is protected with Apple Intelligence and Private Cloud Compute. Mac Mini comes loaded with incredible built-in apps, industry-leading privacy and security, and amazing features for work and play. It comes with macOS.

When an iPhone and a Mac Mini are used together, you can make and answer phone calls and text messages from your phone directly on your Mac. You can also use your iPhone as a webcam or document scanner, and access your iPhone wirelessly with the iPhone mirroring app in the Dock. Mac Mini is designed to pair perfectly with Studio Display, Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse.
