Fact Check: Did Home Minister Amit Shah tweet about snapping internet services in J&K?

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has given an explanation that Home Minister Amit Shah has made no tweet guaranteeing that versatile internet providers would be suspended in Jammu and Kashmir. The announcement from the MHA came after a tweet was seen coursing via web-based networking media, asserting that the web will be suspended in the association domain.

“A tweet is circulating in the name of Union Home Minister mentioning fixed-line broadband and internet in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to be snapped. This tweet is fake. No such tweet has been done from Union Home Minister’s twitter handle,” the MHA said in a statement.

The preview of a tweet which was being coursed via web-based networking media demonstrated that a post saying – ‘Fixed-line broadband and portable web access to be snapped in the UT J&K and Ladakh from today around evening time’ – was produced using the official, checked Twitter record of HM Shah. Strangely, the text style utilized for the tweet was ‘Funny sans’, very bizarre for the Home Minister, who has consistently utilized formal/official layouts to pass on messages through web based life.
