Poonch: Indian Army foils infiltration attempt

On Monday, the Indian Army said it had foiled an attempt to cross the line of control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.

On January 2, 2022 at approximately 8.30 p.m., a group of terrorists were observed attempting to infiltrate the Bhimber Gali sector. Large quantities of ammunition and Pakistani currency recovered from terrorists fleeing. India’s army remains vigilant and on guard.

Lt Col Devender Anand, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry, said that troops foiled the terrorists’ attempt to infiltrate, and that they later recovered ammunition and Pakistani currency they left behind.

Indian forces are on the alert for any attempt by Pakistan-backed terrorists and are determined to thwart them, he added.
