Tesla to end one-time FSD purchases after Feb 14th, shifts to monthly subscription model

As per a statement by Elon Musk on X, Tesla will stop offering Full Self-Driving (FSD) as a one-time purchase in the US after February 14th, 2026. Currently priced at $8,000, FSD will then be available only as a monthly subscription. At present, the subscription costs $99 per month in the US for upgrading from both Basic Autopilot to FSD (Supervised) and Enhanced Autopilot to FSD (Supervised). Notably, Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) itself is only available in select markets.

Tesla FSD to stop one time payment

Musk’s post does not clarify whether the monthly subscription price will remain the same or be revised in the future. It also does not mention what will happen to users who have already purchased FSD via a one-time payment. However, existing purchases will likely continue to remain active, and this change will mainly apply to new customers, meaning those on subscription may no longer get the option to switch to a one-time purchase later.
