Airtel yesterday launched the world’s first fraud detection tool that detects and blocks malicious websites in real-time across all communication OTT platforms, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, emails, browsers, SMSes, etc. It is revealed that this service will be seamlessly integrated with and auto-enabled for all Airtel mobile and broadband customers at no additional cost.
This service is launched to save users from online frauds that pose financial risks, with millions of people becoming victims of malicious online scams. It uses the telco’s threat detection platform that conducts domain filtering across all platforms and blocks the link across devices.
In a statement, the company mentioned, “When a customer tries to access a website flagged as malicious by Airtel’s advanced security system, the page load is blocked, and customers are redirected to a page explaining the reason for the block.” They have also said that they will continue working relentlessly until their networks become completely safe from spam and scams.
The service is currently available in the Haryana circle, with a nationwide rollout planned soon.
