Samsung’s Next Galaxy S25 FE Could Come Equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 Chip, States New Report
The South Korean smartphone maker – Samsung has already unveiled its Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra models, while the Galaxy S25 Edge slim flagship is set to launch next week on the 13th of May 2025. There will also be one more Galaxy model – the Galaxy S25 FE arriving under this series by the end of this year in 2025.
It has now been reported that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 FE unlike its predecessor and unlike the other Galaxy S25 series models could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. Read more about the update below.
Galaxy S25 FE to Use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Chip?
As per this latest report (via Notebook Check), while Samsung still prefers to use the same in-house Exynos 2400e chip (that came inside last year’s Galaxy S24 FE) in the upcoming Galaxy S25 FE model too, as a backup plan the brand could add the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip instead – if Samsung Foundry fails to produce enough Exynos 2400e chip. Also to note, this report aligns with an earlier update which claimed that the Galaxy S25 FE will be powered by a Dimensity chip, whereas all the other Galaxy S25 series models will be equipped with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.
Speaking more, even though the Dimensity 9400 chip would be a better choice than the Exynos 2400e, for Samsung the latter would be better as the revenue generated can go to Samsung Foundry itself. On top of this, equipping the Dimensity 9400 chip would be an expensive decision as well. The same report also mentions that so far the Galaxy S24 FE remains the sole recipient for the Exynos 2400e and apart from the Galaxy S25 FE, the Galaxy Z Flip FE is also rumored or in talks to use this Samsung chip (however previous updates pointed out that it could be hitting the market as the first Exynos 2500-powered device).
As we near its launch time frame, the details concerning the chip that will be used on the Galaxy S25 FE can be confirmed, and better clarity on the matter would be received. About its launch, it is expected to take place sometime in late 2025.
