Samsung tipped to release its triple-fold smartphone on 5th December

The South Korean tech giant Samsung showcased its tri-fold device at the APEC CEO summit in October, and, recently alleged Galaxy Z TriFold smartphone was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG, 3C, and IMDA certification websites. It was said that this device would launch this year in regions like South Korea and China, but Samsung did not officially announce the launch date.

A Korean publication has today exclusively revealed that Samsung will release its tri-fold device on 5th December, and currently the brand is preparing for a public unveiling event for the same.

The upcoming tri-fold smartphone is said to feature a 6.5-inch outer screen and a 10-inch inner screen. When folded, it measures 4.2mm in thickness, and when unfolded, it measures 14mm. It is said to be backed by a 5600 mAh battery. The report indicates that the device will be priced around 3000 dollars, with initial shipments of 20,000 to 30,000 units.

It is said that Samsung does not have a high sales target for this device, but the primary goal is to demonstrate technological leadership with a high-completion TriFold form factor and gauge market response.
