Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (SM-F971B) Spotted on Singapore’s IMDA Regulatory Website; UWB Support Confirmed

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, aka Z Fold Wide, is expected to break cover next month in July, when Samsung will be hosting its mid-year Galaxy Unpacked event. Along with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, the brand is also expected to unveil several other gadgets, including the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, Galaxy Watch 9, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Several rumours and leaks have already spilled the beans on what to expect from these upcoming devices. However, a new detail revealed via Singapore’s IMDA certification database now confirms a few more details about the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (exact moniker not yet confirmed).

Here is what this new certification reveals about it.

On Singapore’s regulatory certification website IMDA, the model number “SM-F971B” has been listed, and while the moniker has not been mentioned on the listing, it does confirm a few of its connectivity features. Under the equipment description page, the device is mentioned as a “5G PHONE WITH NFC, WIFI, BLUETOOTH AND UWB”.

Furthermore, as the equipment type, the listing mentions Ultra WideBand (UWB) Devices and Mobile Terminals, which confirms that the upcoming foldable smartphone will arrive with UWB support.

Moreover, a recent listing of this model number was also spotted by the publication 91mobiles, which confirmed its India launch as well. Though, the sighting of the battery model numbers had already suggested the same earlier.

Along with this, a recent tip from tipster Ice Universe had also revealed some key specs of the upcoming foldable smartphone. As per the tip, the cover display of the wide model is said to offer 432 ppi screen density, while the main display is said to offer 403 ppi screen density. With this screen density, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is said to have the highest pixel density among Samsung’s foldable lineup, on both cover and main displays.

If we take a look at the previous Samsung foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s cover display offers 422 ppi screen density, while the main display offers 368 ppi screen density. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z TriFold’s cover display offers 422 ppi screen density, and its main display offers 268 ppi screen density.

Previous reports revealed that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could weigh 201g, be backed by a 4800mAh battery, support 45W fast charging, pack a new 50MP sensor, and natively support 24MP mode.
