A few months back, a tipster had revealed that OnePlus may not launch its latest flagship, the OnePlus 16, in the Indian market. Now, a latest tip highlights that the brand could instead bring the OnePlus 16R to India next year and position it as its flagship smartphone for the market.
Here’s what this new tip reveals.
OnePlus 16R – India Plans Tipped
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, OnePlus’ strategy for the Indian market could look quite different next year. As per him, the OnePlus 16R will likely serve as the brand’s flagship smartphone in India, following which the Nord series will continue to target the mid-range segment, while the N series will cater to the affordable segment.
If we go by what OnePlus has done in the past, well, prior to the OnePlus 15R, both the OnePlus 12R and OnePlus 13R arrived as rebranded versions of the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 3 and OnePlus Ace 5, respectively.
However, this changed with the launch of the OnePlus 15R, which came as a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6T instead.
Currently, there is no information available regarding the upcoming OnePlus Ace 7 series, so it remains to be seen which China-exclusive model could eventually make its way to India as the OnePlus 16R.
Meanwhile, OnePlus is currently said to be working on the OnePlus 16 for its home market of China.
