Google tipped to introduce Pixel 10 series with improved PWM dimming and HDR peak brightness

Google is rumored to launch its flagship Pixel 10 series in August 2025, though there is a slight confusion related to the exact launch date of this smartphone series. A lot has been revealed regarding the design and specs of the upcoming Pixel 10 series models till now, while more updates are surfacing online as the expected launch timeline is nearing.
In a recent report, Android Authority revealed that the company is considering a display with higher PWM frequency but only for the Pro models, while the displays are also said to be brighter by about 200 nits across the board.
Pixel 10 Pro or Pro XL are expected to run at a 480Hz PWM refresh rate, at least in some conditions, as they may also support 240Hz. While the Pixel 10/ 10 Pro Fold is said to run at a 240Hz PWM frequency. Other than this, the HDR peak brightness for the Pixel 10 series is said to be bumped up around 200 nits brightness across the models when compared to their predecessors.
Pixel 10 is said to offer 2000 nits brightness, Pixel 10 Pro/Pro XL is said to offer 2250 nits brightness, while Pixel 10 Pro Fold is said to offer 1850 nits (internal)|1800 nits (external) brightness.
Though in terms of PWM dimming, the frequency is still low when compared to devices like Xiaomi 15 Ultra (1920Hz) and Honor Magic 6 Pro (4320Hz), it is still an improvement from the previously released models.
