Fresh OnePlus Open 2 Renders and Specs Leak Met with Skepticism by OnLeaks

OnePlus is preparing to launch its next foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open 2, both globally and in China. As the successor to the original Open, it’s generating good hype. Earlier leaks have suggested it will be a repackaged version of the Oppo Find N5, which is expected for Q1 2025 release according to DCS.

Design renders have been leaked by Smartprix in collaboration with Yogesh Brar & Chunvn. According to these renders, the device will retain the circular camera module, though with a modified camera arrangement. The new design shows camera positions on the left, top, and right inside the circular module, unlike the OnePlus Open which had camera cutouts on the bottom, left, and top.

The publication states the device will be 10mm thin and feature IP68 rated protection (previously confirmed by DCS for the Find N5). It’s expected to come in two memory configurations with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB internal storage. The device will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite and run Android 15, with ColorOS 15 for China and OxygenOS 15 for global markets.

The camera setup is expected to include a triple rear system with 50MP main lens, 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The front may feature a dual selfie camera setup with 32MP and 20MP sensors.
Battery capacity is reportedly increasing to 5,900 mAh, up from the Find N3’s 4,800 mAh, with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.

However, reliable tipster SSteve H.McFly (also goes by OnLeaks) on X has suggested that much of this information is speculative, and the shared renders may not be accurate. When a user on the same thread asked about potential design differences, he responded with “no idea.” So, who knows who is right?

While these specifications align with previous DCS leaks about the Oppo Find N5, there are some discrepancies. DCS reported that the Find N5 would feature a dual 5,565 mAh rated battery (which will be marketed as 5,700 mAh), while this leak suggests a 5,900 mAh battery for the OnePlus Open 2(Expected to be repackaged Oppo Find N5).

The device is expected to launch first in China before a global release by the end of Q1 2025, but as with all leaks, this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
