Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro Max could get a big battery upgrade; Tipped to feature a battery bigger than the previous five iPhone Pro Max models
Apple is rumoured to unveil its flagship iPhone 18 series in September 2026, though there is no official confirmation on the launch timeline. The updates related to iPhone 18 series devices have already started surfacing online.
For a long time, Apple has been criticised for launching iPhones with smaller battery capacities. But this year, things might change for Apple users as the company is reported to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro Max with a bigger battery upgrade.
iPhone 18 Pro Max: Tipped to arrive with a big battery upgrade
According to reports surfacing online, the iPhone 18 Pro Max nano SIM variant will feature a 5,235 mAh battery capacity, while the eSIM version is said to arrive with a 5,425 mAh battery.
This is an increase of 8.5% and 6.6%, respectively, when compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max Nano SIM and eSIM models. Not only this, if the reports are true, then the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be arriving with a battery bigger than the previous five iPhone Pro Max models:
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352 mAh
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323 mAh
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: 4,441 mAh
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: 4,685 mAh
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 4,823 mAh (Nano SIM)/ 5,088 mAh (eSIM only).
Apart from the iPhone models, the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacities tipped above will also be higher than Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra model (5,000 mAh battery).
