Apple iPhone Air 2 Tipped to Launch in Q1 2027, Key Specs Also Revealed
The Cupertino-based tech giant – Apple had launched its first iPhone Air smartphone model last year in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17 series models. Now, a new update has revealed that the brand is preparing to launch its next-generation iPhone Air 2 smartphone, and ahead of its expected arrival, a few of its key specs have been shared online by tipster DCS (Digital Chat Station).

Apple iPhone Air 2 – Key Details Tipped
As mentioned, the key details of the upcoming iPhone Air 2 smartphone have now been tipped online and it is said to bring a similar ultra-thin design as that of its predecessor. The device is also expected to feature the same horizontal camera bar design that was seen on the iPhone Air model, again pointing out that Apple may not be making major design changes with the upcoming second-generation model.
Speaking more, the tipster has revealed that the iPhone Air 2 could be powered by the 2nm A20 Pro chipset, and it is also said to feature a 48MP OIS-supported main camera, 48MP ultra-wide camera, and an 18MP front-facing camera. Additionally, the upcoming smartphone is tipped to sport a ~6.55″ flat LTPO OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support.
This upcoming smartphone from Apple is expeected to pack a higher-capacity battery and it may again be coming with a titanium frame. With these, Apple seems to be focusing on offering better performance, improved battery life, and a premium build, while still keeping the ultra-thin form factor of the iPhone Air lineup.
Regarding the launch timeline, the tipster has not revealed anything as of now. However, looking into the past, its predecessor was launched in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17 series. But this year, it is said to be different, as reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models alongside its much-talked-about first foldable handset this September. Following this, the refreshed vanilla iPhone 18 model is believed to be launched alongside the iPhone Air 2 after six months of the Pro models’ debut. This also aligns with tipster DCS’ latest update, who has tipped the iPhone Air 2 launch for Q1 2027.
What exactly would be interesting to see is the pricing of the upcoming smartphone, as memory prices have been increasing and a price hike for upcoming smartphone devices now seems inevitable.
