Just a few days back, ISRO officially announced the successful completion of its SpaDeX mission’s space undocking. The primary aim of the SpaDeX mission is to dock two satellites in space. This milestone is achieved by only the US, China, and Russia, while India is headed to become the fourth country with the SpaDeX mission.

On 18th May 2025 at 05:59 AM IST, ISRO will launch EOS-09 aboard the PSLV-C61 from the First Launch Pad (FLP) at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR. The mission will place the Earth Observation Satellite into a Sun Synchronous Polar Orbit (SSPO).
ISRO has shared the image of PSLV-C61, which is the 63rd PSLV flight and the 27th using the PSLV-XL configuration. The configuration includes four stages with six solid strap-on boosters. Its height is 44.5m and its mass is 321 t.
It is revealed that after EOS-09 is deployed, Orbit Change Thrusters (OCT) will be used to reduce the altitude of the PS4 stage, followed by passivation to limit its orbital life. The EOS-09 key features are- Synthetic Aperture Radar payload, 1696.24 kg, 5 years mission life, and includes deorbiting fuel for safe post-mission disposal.
