Following a recent teaser which hinted at Xiaomi introducing its first Mijia-branded air purifiers in the Indian market, the company has now officially announced the launch of two new models in the country. The upcoming Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact will be unveiled on 25th August 2026 in India, and several of their key features have also been revealed.

Mijia Smart Air Purifier Series – Launching on 25th August 2026 in India
Xiaomi is introducing the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact in India as its next-generation air purification lineup, and both models are teased with the company’s PentaClean Air Purification technology. As per the brand, PentaClean combines a 5-stage filtration system and 5-sensor AQI monitoring, and Xiaomi further claims it to be India’s only PentaClean Air Purification system within its stated price segment.
Speaking more, the upcoming Mijia air purifiers are equipped with what the company calls an industry-leading 5-layer filtration system, along with an upgraded 5-sensor AQI monitoring system for monitoring the surrounding air quality. The purifiers also feature a real-time AQI display, while Xiaomi has depicted AQI 20 as its clean-air standard in comparison to the stated industry focus of AQI 50. Furthermore, the company is promoting the lineup as being capable of recreating a ‘Himalayan-fresh air’ experience inside the home.
Coming to their coverage area, the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 has been designed for spacious Indian homes and is claimed to offer an effective coverage area of up to 940 sq. ft. On the other hand, the more compact Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact offers over 400 sq. ft. of effective coverage area, calculated at 2 ACPH, and Xiaomi claims that it provides the largest coverage area in its segment. The latter is also being positioned for use across homes, offices, as well as kids’ rooms.
Notably, Xiaomi has also highlighted the purification speed of its upcoming Mijia air purifiers, with the devices claimed to provide fresh air in a room in as little as 3.5 minutes. A 108 sq. ft. room can reportedly be purified within 3.5 minutes, whereas a 200 sq. ft. room is said to take around 6 minutes. To note, the 108 sq. ft. test scenario is based on a ceiling height of 2.4 metres or 7.9 feet.
Apart from their purification capabilities, low-noise operation is another feature that Xiaomi has highlighted. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is rated to operate at as low as 32.1dB, whereas the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is claimed to go down to just 20dB. For comparison, Xiaomi has listed whisper-quiet surroundings at around 35dB and normal chatter at around 45dB, suggesting that the devices could be used while sleeping, working, or relaxing without causing much noise disturbance.
Furthermore, the air purifiers are also teased with a 99.99% H1N1 removal rate, UVC sterilisation, and high-quality activated carbon, which together are being promoted as providing an additional layer of protection. The purification system has also been designed to tackle indoor pollutants, cooking smells, and other unpleasant odours.
As for formaldehyde and TVOC purification, Xiaomi has revealed a tested formaldehyde CADR of 218m³/h, along with a claimed 98% formaldehyde removal rate within one hour. The purifiers are also claimed to offer a 92.4% TVOC removal rate within one hour.
Regarding their smart capabilities, the upcoming Mijia Smart Air Purifier series will support Xiaomi HyperOS Connect and the Xiaomi Home app, allowing users to integrate the devices with Xiaomi’s connected ecosystem. Support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa has also been revealed, further offering smart-home control options.
The upcoming air purifiers have additionally been showcased with SGS Allergen Removal Testing and ITS Allergen Free Certification. Xiaomi is promoting the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact with the tagline ‘Wonderfully Compact. Surprisingly Powerful.’, while the overall lineup is positioned to quietly blend into bedrooms, living rooms, home offices, regular offices, and children’s rooms.
