Google suffered a major international internet outage on Tuesday, for which the company has apologised to the users. Consequently, the breakdown was caused during a software update. However, the search engine team had worked quickly to solve the issue and the services were back to normal.
The software update issue largely affected the Google search and Maps. The realtime outages online platform known as Downdetector reported that the users had registered problems with Google explorer, largest search engine at 2.12am.
The first breakdown was reported on 12pm which lasted till 34 minutes. Consequently, it affected limited servers and took around seven minutes to work back to normal. The users encountered 502 or a 500 error while using the search engine.
Around 4,113 users complained about the search engine outages. Also, the users said that the Gmail, Google maps and images were also experiencing breakdown of it’s services. Accordingly, Google outages were affecting almost 1,338 servers worldwide. More than 40 countries including the United States, Australia, South Africa, Israel, parts of South America, Europe and Asia were been affected by the outage.
