Did Conti Ransomware shut down their operation?
Conti Ransomware shut down their operation, reports say as their infrastructure was offline.
The famous Conti Ransomware is officially shut down, say reports as their infrastructure was offline. On 19th May Yelisey Boguslavskiy tweeted on his Twitter about the shut down of Conti Ransomware.
While data leak and ransom negotiations sites are still online, the panels used by members to perform negotiations are offline.
Moreover, the rocket chat used by the hackers is inactive, the reports added.
A ransomware attack is an attack done on people in which the people’s computers are locked by the hackers. The system will be unlocked only if the people pay a certain amount of money to the hackers. The Government thought that they can control the attacks, but one year later they are still struggling to control the damage caused by the Ransomware attack. The number of victims paying money to the hackers increased by 70% compared to last year.
It is strange for Conti Ransomware to shut down its operation in the middle of the information war. Because the reports say a public attack is a deceptive act of Ransomware, the Conti members slowly moved to other small Ransomware operations.
The Conti Ransomware brand is now gone, but the cybercrime syndicate will continue to go on for a long period of time. The hackers did not completely abandon the project, they just modified it. The hackers are now divided into groups to attack.
These Conti attacks were started in 2020 and are being continued still. The reports ay that the Conti has partnered with several Ransomwaare companies to conduct attacks.
